The District level inter zonal/school painting competition in the age groups of U-14,17 & 19 girls and boys was held on April 9 in which more than 200 students from 12 educational zones & higher secondary school of the district participated.
The competition was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Kh. Nazir Ahmad and International Cricketer Parvez Rasool.
ADC while addressing the participants laid stress to on preserving the water resources. Later a presentation Ceremony was held along the banks of River Jehlum in which District Youth Services & Sports Office Anantnag Noor ul Haq gave away the prizes to the first 4 positions in each age group.
He also thanked District Administration for providing all logistic support in organizing the event and providing free access to the organisers and participants .He also thanked JK Bank in making this event a grand success.
Among others present on the occasion were Zonal Physical Education Officer Achabal, Verinag, Anantnag and Mattan activity section of DYSSO Office Anantnag,Technical Officials of Department of Youth Services & Sports. The theme of the Painting was Water Resources and their Preservation.
