In an another first of its kind initiative from administrators lead JKCA, team Uttar Pradesh to play few practice matches with J&K in order to provide players the much needed match practice before the start of upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In a decision taken by JKCA CEO along Irfan Pathan, J&K is all set to play few practice matches with Uttar Pradesh from 18th August. The team for the same will be probably announced tomorrow.
“We had already planned for an inter-state tournament but due to less time, we reduced it to a single team. UP will be arriving here probably tomorrow and the first match will be played on Saturday,” a source in JKCA said.
These matches will be played to prepare players for upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy that begins from September 19,
“This will give our players some match practice before the main tournament starts. We are looking forward for it,” it added.
After JKCA was taken over by Supreme Court appointed administrators, J&K cricket has witnessed some phenomenal changes and this event adds more to it.
