For the development of cricketing talent in the district, the Anantnag Cricket Premier League ACPL was today kick started in the district. The opening ceremony of League (ACPL-I) was held today here at Seven Springs Mall K.P Road Anantnag.
The chief guest on the occasion was Aditional DC Anantnag Mr. Parvaiz Ahmad who in his address lauded the efforts of the organisers for organizing such a mega event in the district for the upliftment of the Sports.
The Chief executive of ACPL Mr. Layeek Ahmad Khan in his welcome address said that the governing body is aiming to work for the betterment of the cricket in the area through this tournament and we are hopeful that this league will encourage the budding talent of the district.
The other guests who were present on the occasion include, Abid Pathan, Nisar Ahmad Khanday, Mohd Iqbal Rawloo, Mohd Iqbal Mufti, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani and others.
In the league a total of 24 teams are participating and the matches of the league will be started in the month of March.
The opening ceremony of the league receives overwhelming response from the cricket fraternity of Anantnag.
