Srinagar, Sep 13: The District level Inter School
U-19 boys Tournament organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports District Anantnag concluded on Saturday with Higher Secondary School Salia emerging out as winners.
The tournament had started on September 1 at Sports Stadium Nanil Anantnag and was inaugurated by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Anantnag. Around 304 players from 19 Higher Schools took part in the tourney.
The final was played on Saturday between HSS Mattan and HSS Salia. HSS Salia won the toss and decided to bat. HSS Salia scored 150 runs in alloted 20 overs for the loss of 09 Wickets. Shaarik from Salia scored quick 76 runs and was adjudged as man of the match.
In reply HSS Mattan scored 103 runs for the loss of all wickets. Salik from HSS Salia was declared as the player of the tournament. District Development Commissioner K. K. Sidha was the Chief Guest and Gh. Hassan Sheikh ADC Anantnag was the Guest of honor and gave away the prizes. He also distributed Cricket kits among the winner and Runners up teams. DDC also announced for providing a cricket roller to Sports stadium Anantnag.
Among others who were present on the occasion were District Youth Services and Sports Officer Anantnag Mushtaq Ahamad Pampori, members of Activity Section DYSSO Office and Technical Officials . The event was Organised by the Department of Youth Services and sports Anantnag.
