Bandipora, April 7: Bandipora Cricket Club on Sunday cruised past Rising Star CC in all three departments to lift the Adnan Memorial T20 tourney at Watapora Bandipora.

The heavyweight BCC side was put on to bat first at the slowish track, however, the openers made sure to not let the Rising Star bowlers do any damage in the initial phase of the match. The duo of Mudasir Malik and Amir showed resistance at the crease as they kept rotating the strike with occasional boundary.

After the powerplay, Rising Star spinners came into the play and removed both the openers in a quick succession. Though the likes of Nasir Lone didn’t let the innings fall down as the flamboyant cricketer played some sensible cricket.

He got his team through the hard patch, scoring a 69-run knock to help them post a compatible total of 158 runs. Apart form him, Mudasir Malik also chipped in with a cameo in the beginning.

Meanwhile, in reply, Rising Star started with a bang as they crossed 50-run mark in six overs without losing any wickets. However, the introduction of leggie, Mudasir Malik, changed the scenario of the game.

Malik made full use of the conditions and slow wicket, removing five of Rising Star CC’s wickets, hence owning BCC an easy win of 38 runs.

He was later declared man of the match while Nasir Lone got the all-rounder of the tournament award. Pertinently, Mansoor and Hilal ran away with man of the series and best bowlers momento.

The tournament was organised in the loving memory of Adnan, a minor who lost his life after being hit a ball while playing cricket.
