Kohli and Bumrah will resume duties after a period of rest, while Rahul too returns to the side to take on Australia in the upcoming limited-overs series.
Bowlers Khaleel Ahmed, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Siraj have been left out from the squad that played in New Zealand recently. Siddharth Kaul will fill in for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has been rested for the first couple of ODIs.
Rishabh Pant has also received an ODI recall. Making way for him is Dinesh Karthik, who failed to make his mark across five ODIs in Australia and New Zealand recently. The batsman, who serves as a reserve wicket-keeping option, retains his place in the T20I squad however.
Shubman Gill, who made his international debut on the recent tour of New Zealand, has been left out to make room for the returning Rahul.
With Kohli and Bumrah, ranked No.1 batsman and bowler respectively in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI rankings, India look an even more formidable side.
In the Twenty20 International team, Kuldeep Yadav has been rested and uncapped leg-spinner Mayank Markande has been named in the 15-man squad instead. Kaul too finds a spot in the T20I squad.
