Srinagar, February 10: Complementing the current adminstration, J&K captain Parvez Rasool has said that earlier only players from Jammu and Srinagar were prefered in different teams.

This season in Ranji Trophy , J&K has done wonders, having already scripted six outright wins and yet to lose a match. Speaking about the success of team, Parvez has stated that it was due the fair selection.

“Earlier, only players from Jammu and Srinagar would get into the team. That is not the case since the last two years. Any boy who is in the team now is on merit. The mantra is: perform and play,” Rasool was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The J&K, who bagged man of the match against Tripura in round-eight, also claimed that J&K cricket had nothing in last 50 years.

“This just shows that all J&K cricket needed was a proper system, facilities, some professionalism and guidance. We got all that in the last two years after having had nothing for 50 years. And the result is for all to see,”
