It couldn’t have gone worse as South Africa’s horror ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 campaign continued with star paceman Dale Steyn ruled out of the tournament due to a shoulder injury.
Steyn had missed his side’s opening two matches of the tournament, defeats to England and Bangladesh, but had hoped of playing later in the group stage.
But on Tuesday, the veteran was ruled out and replaced in the squad by left-armer Beuran Hendricks.
The Proteas will be chasing their first win of the tournament on Wednesday when they take on India.
