For the second consecutive match England left its premier spin all-rounder out the playing eleven in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
England on Friday won the toss and Against West indies and opted to field first. Moeen Ali who has played in 76 of England’s 91 ODIs since Cricket World Cup 2015 was left out of the England side today for the second game in a row. Moeen had recently missed England practice due to the birth of child.
Before the match in his preview Michael Vaughan had predicted that England will go back to their usual combination and include Moeen Ali in the playing XI against West indies.
But that has not been the case. Many believe that England have opted against picking Moeen Ali today, given how easily Chris Gayle has taken him apart in the past. Of the many bowlers to never dismiss Gayle, nobody has conceded more runs than Moeen against him.
