CM’s T20 Premier League for Women underway at Jammu

A mega T20 cricket event for women is being organized by SCA under the supervision of J&K state sports council at Parade ground Jammu. Teams from whole India with national and zonal level players are taking part in the event.CM

A total of 8 teams are participating in the tournament viz Srinagar Queens, Jammu Princess, Chennai Sharks, Kolkata Flamingo, Delhi Angels, Mumbai Mermaids, Punjab Birds and Rajasthan Scorchers.

This tournament is being played on IPL format with five players from Jammu & Kashmir being accompanied in each team. Some of the international stars are also playing in this tournament.

Vice captain of team Bangladesh is Captain of Srinagar Queens and Captain of Nepal team is leading Jammu Princess side in the tourney. Jasia the star cricketer from valley is also playing for the Srinagar team and has already scored two half centuries so far in the tournament.

The coach of Srinagar Queens and Jammu Princess are Abida Khan and Roopali Slathia respectively. Four teams have qualified for the semis viz Jammu Princess, Punjab Birds, Srinagar Queens and Delhi Angels. The motive of the tournament is to provide women cricketers of J&K a platform to showcase their talent and share dressing room with veterans of the game.
