With India, like rest of the World battling deadly Coronavirus, celebrities and sportspersons are also coming forward to contribute in the fight against the virus.

Taking cue from his fellow cricketers Indian opener Rohit Sharma has donated around rupees 80 lakhs to various relief organisations to fight against the pandemic.

Taking to his official Twitter handle Rohit Sharma tweeted,” We need our country back on feet & the onus is on us. I’ve done my bit to donate 45lakhs to #PMCaresFunds, 25lakhs to #CMReliefFund Maharashtra, 5lakhs to @FeedingIndia and 5lakhs to #WelfareOfStrayDogs.Let’s get behind our leaders and support them @narendramodi @CMOMaharashtra”.

Meanwhile Tennis superstar Sania Mirza has been able to raise around one crore 25 lakhs through which she intend to feed around one lakh affected by lockdown due to Coronavirus.

Sania Mirza taking to her official handle tweeted, “The last week we have tried as a team to provide some help to the people in need..we provided food to thousands of families and raised 1.25 Crore in one week which will help close to 1 Lakh people.its an ongoing effort and we are in this together 🙏🏽
