Portugal are the first team to qualify for the NationsLeague final thanks to a Cristinao Ronaldo hat-trick.

Hosts Portugal defeated Switzerland 3-1 tonight in the first semi-final of the UEFA Nations League.

A late double from Cristiano Ronaldo (88, 90) saw him complete a hat-trick after opening the scoring with a spectacular 25th minute free-kick.

The game had been turned on its head on 57 minutes when Ricardo Rodríguez’s penalty equalised for the Swiss following a controversial VAR decision.

There was a potential two-goal swing as Portugal had claimed a penalty at one end that could have put them 2-0 up but instead the play was wound back and the Swiss were awarded a spot-kick of their own for an earlier incident.
