In a major blow to the preparations of South Africa cricket team for the ICC Cricket World Cup, its star pacer Dale Steyn has been ruled of the opening match.

As per reports Dale Steyn has been ruled out of South Africa’s opening World Cup match against England on Thursday.

“He is getting closer everyday; we hope that if not by Sunday then by the India game,” South Africa coach Ottis Gibson was quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

Steyn had suffered recurring injury during IPL and had to return home only after playing two matches.
