Kashmir’s star forward Danish Farooq scored twice as Real Kashmir FC defeated home side Neroca FC by 3-2 in the scintillating I-League match played at Imphal on Saturday, March 9.

After trailing early by one goal, Real Kashmir made stunning comeback to put three back to back goals against home side to register the emphatic win. It was return favour from Real Kashmir to Neroca as the home side had defeated Kashmir side when they last played in Srinagar.

Subhas Singh gave Neroca the lead in 19 minute but Danish Farooq’s scored twice in 29th minute and 49th minute and a strike from Bazie Armand in 57th minute sealed victory for the Snow Leopards. Felix Chidi scored a late consolation goal (90+5’) for the home side.

David Robertson made three changes in the Real Kashmir XI which went down 2-1 against East Bengal in their last match. Abednego Tetteh, who was sent off with a direct red card in the last match was replaced by Gnohere Krizo upfront.

The other two changes are Ritwik Kumar Das and Muhammad Hammad, who replaced Vicky Meetei and Abhas Thapa.

Neroca boss Manuel Fraile Retamero too made three alterations in the Manipur club’s starting XI. Bishorjit Singh replaced Lalit Thapa under the woodwork. Saran Singh and Ashok Singh were the two other new faces who replaced Sebastian Thangmuansang and Felix Chidi.

With Churchill Brothers suffering defeat , Real Kashmir has now bagged the third place in the debut I-League season. A great achievement for the club that came into existence only three years ago.
