The Khelo India Winter Games 2020 Gulmarg are in full swing with competitions of skiing and Snow Shoeing held on the fourth day of the competition at Gulmarg on Tuesday.

The games are organised by Winter Games Association of J&K and J&K State Sports Council.The eveng is sponsored Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India activities were held mainly in major winter sports declines during the day.

The competitions of Snow Rugby, Ice Stock, Snow Baseball and Ice Skating, Hockey had concluded on Monday on Tuesday competitions of only Skiing and Snow Shoe were held on Tuesday.

In SnowShoe, competitions were held in two sprint categories of 400 metres and 800-metre categories. The races were flagged off by Sports Officer Kashmir J&K State Sports Council Nuzhat Ara in presence of Director Water Sports Bilquis Mir, President J&K Snowshoe Association Tariq Ahmad Zargar and others.

While in 800-metre category, J&K bagged all three places in 400-metre, J&K had to share medal podium with Uttarakhand and Lakshadweep.

In 400-metre category, Muzamil Hussain Mir bagged gold medal while as in Deepak of Uttarakhand bagged silver and Ashique of Lakshadweep bagged bronze medal. In 800-metre category, Villayat Hussain of J&K bagged gold medal while as Aquib and Haadi Ali bagged silver and bronze medals respectively.

In major winter sports discipline competitions were flagged off by Secretary J&K State Sports Council Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary and President Winter Games Association of J&K Muhammad Abass Wani at Kongdoori. The competitions were held in Senior slalom category in both men and women sections, Junior 1 and 2 at Kongdoori while as for C2 Giant Slalom competitions were held at Highland slope Gulmarg.

Later in the evening medal distribution ceremony was held at Gulmarg in which Director General Youth Services and Sports  Dr Saleem ur Rehman, Secretary J&K State Sports Council Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, General Manager J&K Cable Car Corporation Reyaz malik, CEO GDA were guests. They distributed medals among the winners of various categories and sports disciplines.
