In spite of posting the highest ever T20 score, Jammu and Kashmir senior cricket team on Friday faced a crushing 9-wicket defeat against Jharkhand at CP Ground, Andhra in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
Earlier, cameos by Manzoor Dar, Jatin Wadhwan, Shubham Khajuria and Parvez Rasool helped J&K post 168 runs on board after Jharkhand invited them to bat first.
Wadhwan was the highest run-getter, making 37-ball 47 runs while as Manzoor Dar followed him with 39 runs in 22 balls. While for opposition, Rahul Shukla scalped a fifer.
Meanwhile, in reply, Jharkhand openers thrashed J&K bowlers all-around the park, ending the game in mere 16.4 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Captain, Ishan Kishan fired a brilliant unbeaten ton while his partner, Anand Singh made 48 runs.
For J&K, none of the bowlers did the job well. All were too expensive, to say the least. Umar Nazir was the only one to take wicket, hence rewarding star-studded Jharkhand an easy win.
