Srinagar, Aug 26: Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh has congratulated Inspector Kuldeep Handoo for being awarded prestigious Dronacharya Award 2020.

The DGP in his message has congratulated Handoo for achieving yet another remarkable milestone and said that it will inspire upcoming sportspersons in Jammu and Kashmir.

The DGP said that Handoo has brought laurels to the J&K Police and the Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that he will continue to work and more dedication in future also. The DGP wished him good luck for the future assignments.

Kuldeep Handoo, who is also Wushu coach for Team India, has been conferred with the prestigious Dronacharya 2020. He is the first person from the Jammu and Kashmir to receive the award.

Handoo is eleven times National champion in Wushu and 06 times International Medalist.  He is the recipient of the Jammu and Kashmir State Award (2011) and J&K Sports Award for excellence in Sports (2013).  Kuldeep Handoo also has the distinction of being conferred with the 2016 National FICCI Sports Award and the J&K Parshuram Coaches Award 2017.
