To promote and develop sports culture in the district, the Dachnipora Cricket Federation today kick started Dachnipora Premier League (DPL) Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium Nanil Anantnag.
In the tournament a total of 48 teams of the district are participating. The tournament is based on T20 format in the first round and will be followed by 30-30 overs format in the 2nd round. In the inaugural match Friend Cricket Club Bijbehara defeated Kehribal Blues. On the inaugural ceremony the Chief Patron of DCF Lal Mohammad Ganie was the chief guest.
While speaking on the occasion Lal Mohammad said that DCF is always committed to organize tournaments based on quality cricket equiped with better facilities and fair play. He added that the present DPL tournament will be unique in its structure and will come up with the expectations of the participating clubs. Besides him, Sports analyst and Chairman of Veerian Cricket Academy Dr. Riyaz Veeri while speaking on the occasion said that need of the hour is to follow the game rules properly and all players, clubs and officials must keep in mind that game rules are always superior than the players or clubs and everybody is bound to follow them if they want to flourish in the field.
At the end Chief organizer of the Tournament Nazir Ahmad Padder Presented a detailed report about the terms and conditions of tournament before the participation clubs and invited guests. Among the invited guests Mukhtar Ahmad Banday (Vice Chairman DCF), Farooq Ahmad Tantary (Member DCF), Naseer Ahmad (Anzwallah Sports) and Shabir Saleem (Convener and Publicity Incharge DCF) were present on the occasion.
