Srinagar: Not afraid away of reforms in cricket association of State and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Dr Farooq Abdullah faction of JKCA has come in support of the Lodha Committee recommendations and requested panel to take charge of the body till the association would be set in order.

“Despite being given deadline of October 6 by Supreme Court of India to implement retired Justice RM Lodha Panel recommendations, BCCI officials blatantly are defying and ignoring guidelines. BCCI is bound to follow court verdict and simultaneously, all the State Association being the subsidiaries of BCCI are under obligation to implement the recommendations in letter and spirit in order to avoid legal complications,” said statement JKCA Dr Farooq Abdullah faction Vice-Chairman GM Ronga .

“We appeal Lodha committee to appoint a receiver to run the affairs of the association including the current national tournaments till the association is set right in accordance with the Lodha recommendations,” statement quoted him saying.

The statement said that Dr. Farooq Abdullah faction has no problem in implementing the Lodha recommendation and want to adopt same in JKCA. However, the statement has criticized the JKCA Ansari faction for violating rules and recommendations of the panel.

“Ansari group has repeatedly defied stay orders issued by the various courts and went ahead with JKCA elections on July 20, 2015 and July19, 2016. The elections held on July 19, 2016 were then declared null and void by Lodha Panel immediately in the light of Supreme Court orders issued on July 18, 2016 asking BCCI and its Subsidiaries to implement the recommendations made by the Lodha panel, thus leaving the JKCA a headless body,” statement said.

The statement further said that JKCA went ahead with recent working committee meeting despite body elections declared null and void by Supreme Court panel.

“The sub committees, selection committees who are selecting the team for national tournaments are illegal and supposed to be sacked as they have lost moral and legal obligation to select any national team. The present so called body holding the office should quit the office forthwith as they have failed to implement the recommendations of the Lodha Panel,” it said.

The statement further alleged that Ansari faction is trying to change demography of the cricket body by grabbing ownership of some clubs.

“The so called office bearers are assisting some individuals to grab various clubs illegally taking the advantage of present unrest in the Kashmir Valley. The person’s currently running the affairs of the JKCA and spending JKCA funds is absolutely illegal and the persons involved besides legal action shall have to indemnify the amount spent during the above referred to period,” it said.
