Srinagar, June 18: Youth expressed anger as J&K State Sports Council has decided to restrict entry of general public at TRC ground for the Floodlight night exhibition match between Indian Stars and J&K stars, scheduled for tonight.

The youth, particularly football enthusiasts, said that it’s ‘unacceptable’ to not allot passes for locals for this match,

“If these floodlights are meant for betterment of football in Valley then why is general public not allowed here? It’s absolutely unacceptable,” a Srinagar native said.

“We were eagerly waiting to witness a football match at night in Srinagar but this is really disheartening to not get entry in the stadium,” another football fan remarked.

They also questioned the amount of money used for the inauguration as Sports Council is set to spend Rs 30 lakhs for the event,

“If (J&K Sports) Council is spending such a huge amount for this match, what is that all about if public doesn’t get to see any action?,” a local footballer asked.

When KSW reached Sports Officer, Nuzhat Ara to know more about the matter, she hung the phone call on hearing the question.
