It was complete dominance by Italian women’s football team as they thumped Jamaica by 5-0 goals to cruise their way into last 16 of Fifa Women’s World Cup 2019.

It was Cristiana Girelli who scored hat-trick and Aurora Galli bags brace to help Italy book place in the last 16 at the Women’s World Cup.

Girelli opened scoring with retaken penalty in 12th minute on Friday. She grabbed her second from close range and headed in third to complete hat-trick.

Aurora Galli came in as a substitute for Italy and scored twice to push the final score to 5-0. The night before the match, Jamaican sprint great Usain Bolt used Skype to call into a team gathering of the Reggae Girlz and encouraged them to ‘to go out there and do your best. You don’t worry about what other people are thinking.’

Jamaica lost 3-0 to Brazil in its opening match.
