GKCPL-2018: Showket’s all-round show carries gave Shemrock CC into semifinal

Shemrock Cricket Club has booked place in the semifinal of the Grand Kashmir cricket Premier League 2018 as they defeated Qamawari Rebels CC in a high voltage Quarter final by 4 runs.


ShemRock Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first in a pressure game, while batting first Shemrock could only post 122 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs quota on the board.  Syed Rasool scored 29 and Asif Bakshi made 22 runs were the highest run getters for ShemRock. Imtiyaz Mallah and Asif took 2 wickets each for Q_Rebels.

In reply Q-rebels started inning cautiously & in mean while lost opener in very first over.After the recovery they fought  well but couldn’t finish the match on winning note and fall 4 runs short from the winning target. Q_rebels could only manage to score 118/9 in the allotted 20 overs.

Rayees with 27 and Imtiyaz Mallah with 19 runs were the highest scorer for Rebels.

Showket and Izhar took 2 scalps each for ShemRock CC.With this win Shemrock CC got a semifinal ticket. Showkat for his allround show was  declared man of the match and most sixes award was given to captain of Shemrock Asif Bakshi.
