Pacer Rasikh Salaam Dar on Wednesday was bagged by Indian Premier League (IPL) franchisee Mumbai Indian’s during the player’s auction held in Jaipur. He will be representing Mumbai side in the IPL-2019.

“The story and journey of Rasikh from unknown to rising star of J&K cricket is a clear message to everyone that if they have got talent, nothing can stop them from fulfilling their dreams. It is also a message that if proper set up and guidance is in place then a person can reach to top level,” Parvez said.

“He was unknown sometime back and for the first time ever J&K Cricket Association conducted tournaments in all district. Rasikh performed well in his home district tournament and was called for trials, where Irfan Pathan spotted him and gave him a chance to play with senior players in practice matches and then backed him for senior team selection. He came from nowhere to directly in senior team which was an achievement in itself,” he said.

J&K skipper said that Rasikh to play in IPL is great achievement for the entire J&K cricket and it will help in the development of J&K cricket a great deal. “I am again saying that grass root level development of cricket is must. We can unearth hidden talent from far flung areas of the State through events like this. Then they need mentorship and guidance and I hope that Pathan continues to play that role,” he said.
