Srinagar, May 12: J&K’s mentor Irfan Pathan recently named Shubham Pundir as the upcoming leader, Shubham Khajuria as best batsman and Mujtaba Yousuf and Rasikh Salam as future stars of J&K cricket.

Pathan, in an Instagram chat with star cricketer Suresh Raina, talked about several artefacts, including his stint with the J&K team.

The former all-rounder said there is no dearth of talent in the erstwhile state and named some of the players, he thinks can make it big.

“If J&K cricket has to taste success in the future, then there is no better leader than Shubham Pundir. Shubham Khajuria is the best batsman in the state. He is the second Rayadu (Ambati Rayudu). Salim Mustafa (Mujtaba Yousuf) and Rasikh Salam have great future ahead,” Pathan said.

The Baroda-born cricketer joined J&K team season before last one as player cum mentor. However, he opted to only mentor the side last season as the southpaw announced retirement from all forms of cricket, earlier this year.
