Two P’s of J&K cricket team Irfan Pathan and Parvez Rasool were in full flow with bat as J&K dominated the first day of play in Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh at Jammu on December 1.
Irfan Pathan smashed a blistering 91 off 76 balls while as Parvez Rasool scored 87 off 92 balls as J&K scored 290 runs in their first inning. Though Parvez Rasool played as usual as consistent, it was Irfan Pathan who stole the show during the opening day of play. After J&K were reduced to 219/9, Pathan showed his full flow with the bat as he went on to add 71 runs with number 10 batsman Akaash. Pathan got out after scoring 91 off 76 balls in which he hit 5 sixes and 10 fours. His inning included 4 consecutive sixes he hit against S Kumar.
J&k went on to score 290 runs in first inning in which Pathan top scored with 91. Parvez Rasool scored 87 off 92 in which he hit 13 fours and one six. Ian Dev got out on a score of 49 while as Akaash remained not out on 13. For UP, S Kumar took 6 wickets.
In bowling Mohammad Mudhasir again did the job for J&K as he reduced UP to 31/3 at the end of first days play.
UP still trail J&K by 259 runs and second days play will be interesting.
