Srinagar: Keeping a track of official J&K State Sports Council email address and the bulletins they keep mailing to various media persons , it seems most of the mails related to sports news comprise of Thang-Ta activities held in Indoor Stadium.
The latest example of the fact is today’s mail, in which media.jksc@gmail.com has sent statement about ‘Thang-ta champions honored’.
The statement reads, “ Srinagar :- Zakariya Bhat (Youngest State awardee) Tawzeeh Mujeeb, Saba Jan and Bareera Aftab all the four Thang Ta Players were honored on the closing ceremony of Phoenix Sports Festival 2016 which was organised by J&K Police department and J& K State Sports Council at Sher I Kashmir Indoor Stadium Srinagar.
All the four players were the finalist of the Champion of the Champion event of the Thang-Ta event during the festival.
The senior member of the Sports council Prof B A Shah, Madam Nusrat Gazala Manager of Bakshi Stadium Srinagar Sheikh Tulal Manager Indoor Stadium Srinagar and Coach Muhammad Iqbal gave them blessings for their best performance, Statement further reads.
The event mentioned Phoenix Sports Festival 2016 was organized by district Police Srinagar in Indoor Stadium and in it apart from Thang-Ta competitions of archery, judo, badminton, tug of war were also held. During five day event only once the same email id issued statement that was also dominated by Thang-ta while for rest of days they kept silent and only related news about Phoenix Sports Festival was issued by Police itself.
Now the latest statement in question is like that only Thang-Ta event is being played in sports council as sports council officials, members honored these players.
The fact is that Judo players practice in same place and badminton too. It was not a big event like national or state championship of thang-ta that pseudo encouragement was needed.
“It is fake honor ceremony. Thang-ta instructor remains idle throughout day at same place so does other sports council officials. Member sports council Prof Shah has no other work then to go attend meetings and screening of teams in lieu of TA/DA amount,” said one of the senior Thang-Ta players.
“The council Thang-ta instructor operates the email id of council and he promotes only his own games and close players. These players practice under him at Indoor complex that is why in order earn praise from Council higher ups he managed this fake honor ceremony that looks fake even in picture. I even question whether other officials in picture even know that it is felicitation ceremony picture,” he added.
One of the Judo players said that that instead being general promotion mail of the Council the address has been turned into personal property of very few.
