J&K has jumped back to the top of the points table of the Elite Group-C Ranji Trophy after defeating Tripura on Wednessday.
J&K by defeating Tripura gained six points from the match and pushed its tally to 39 points on points table. They have overlapped Odisha on the points table. Odisha stand at second place with 35 points. Odisha’s match is still going against Maharashtra but they are unlikely to earn full six points from the match as Maharashtra earned huge first inning lead. On points table Services have jumped to third place with 33 points. They earned seven points in their match against Uttarakhand.
J&K are almost certain of their place in next round of the tournament but the results of the last match in the group are still relevant. J&K would be playing its last match against Haryana. If they lose that match while as other results go in favor of Odisha and Services there is slight chance that J&K may miss their qualification. The permutations and combinations for the place in next round are still relevant with everything possible in game of cricket.
