A sorry batting performance followed by below par bowling in overcast conditions resulted in J&K suffering 6 wicket defeat against Bengal in its opening match of Vijay Hazare Trophy One Day tournament match at Chennai on September 20.JK in andhra Pradesh (1)

The match got late start due to overnight rain and it was reduced to 25 overs per inning. J&K got all out for 96 runs with pacer Mohammad Mudhasir top scoring with 21. The display by JK batter was so poor that next best score was by Paras Sharma 17 and Fazil 11. Irfan Pathan playing first match for JK , got out without opening his account.

In reply Bengal got to total in 20.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. S Goswami top scored with 22 and Vivek Singh scored 20. For JK Irfan Pathan took one wicket (caught and bowled) and he also inflicted one run out. Waseem Raza got prize wicket of Manoj Tiwary and Shubham Khajuria got Goswami.
