J&K senior women’s cricket team was stationed in two different airports for night as Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) failed to manage the accomodation and made them reach the venue just a day before the start of the tournament.

After JKCA announced the squad on Monday, the team left for Delhi in the evening, wherein some girls were sent to Kolkata while some to Ahmedabad. Both the groups had to stay at airport for the whole night before they reached Tripura this evening.

“Players went through plenty of trouble as it’s never easy to stay at an airport for night especially for girls,” a source in JKCA said.

Meanwhile, the date for trials was set as 10th February, however, due to prevailing situation and unruly weather in Jammu, team was picked without any proper trial camp.

A senior cricketer while lamenting the ‘non-systematic’ behaviour of JKCA said that nothing is going well and players are becoming victims of all this mess. In the mean time, J&K is set to begin its campaign in the tournament from tomorrow.
