Srinagar:J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) club members have reacted strongly to the notice issued by JKCA Chief Executive Officer regarding registration of District for cricket body.

JKCA Clubs issued a statement on Saturday April 13-2019 in which they have asked general public not to pay any heed to the recently issued notice by JKCA CEO in which he had opened the registration of District units with JKCA.

“There is no mandate given by the general council of JKCA, High Court or Supreme Court to CEO for issuing such notice. Any affiliated unit of JKCA should not and cannot take cognigence of this unauthorized notice,” a statement issued read.

The helm of main cricket body in State JKCA are run by Court appointed CEO and two Administrators. CEO recently had issued a public notice in which he had invited membership applications from Districts Associations accompanied with demand of draft of Rupees 5,000. After the takeover of JKCA by CEO and Administrators, the original 32 clubs of cricket body among which some are founding members have been sidelined. CEO and Administrators also recently got redrafted Constitution of JKCA approved by Registrar of Societies and BCCI in which clubs have no role.

Terming the step taking by CEO as unauthorized, clubs said, “ Members of the original JKCA want to bring into public notice that the said notice by CEO Syed Ashqiue Bukhari is unauthorized and out of his jurisdiction. The issue of the illegal amendments and creation of parallel JKCA by CEO is still sub-judice, therefore any association, body responding to the said notice, will do it as its own risks and costs,” statement issued further said.

In the statement the clubs have also said that JKCA recently passed and forwarded its amended  constitution framed by it under existing JKCA rules to the BCCI and the COA and CEO of BCCI and JKCA.
