With non-professionals calling shorts in J&K Cricket Association (JKCA), the cricket governing body of J&K is turning into a joke with several decisions taken turning into a matter of laugh for many.
Among the long list of mockery in the name of cricket making decision that JKCA did was changing the support staff of J&K Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy team including its Physio, Video Analyst, Coach for team’s dismal performance in the tournament.
While changing coach midway of the tournament is understandable, the change of all the other support staff is mockery and a total joke.
J&K so far in the tournament has played four matches out of which they have suffered defeat in three and registered win in one.
From the day 1, the selection of many players in the team was questioned. There were several players in the team who did not deserve place in the squad and were there only because of influence and interference of high ranking officials players in JKCA.
As the team suffered humiliating defeat in the first two matches of the tournament, selectors made five changes in the squad. They dropped almost all the non-performing players and brought in other five. Even the next set of five included had one or two players who were there only on the influence.
A belonging to Kashmir had been continuously failing with the bat but is still there with the team after having four matches with nothing to display on the scorecard.
Former players blame a top J&IK player and persons in JKCA office for all the mess and making J&K cricket laughing stock.
“When you being senior player interfere in everyone matter and included your close players in all the teams then you lose the right of blaming selectors. The selectors are chosen by this player and the office people of JKCA. They do what they say and hence the outcome,” said a former player.
Another former player said he has never seen such lowly sort of affairs in JKCA were only four persons are calling shots at the top and are involved in everything.
“JKCA CEO is non professional with no knowledge of cricket and he is being guided this player and the office guys in JKCA. They do everything and are acting like dictators in JKCA. It is high time BCCI looks into all the matters of JKCA and bring the J&K cricket in order,” player added.
