J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) has decided to conduct its upcoming J&K Premier League (JKPL) cricket event on 40-over format rather than popular T20 format.J&K Ranji trophy team1

JKCA has started the process of conducting JKPL tournament across State and for that draws of pools at district level are being held. However, JKCA instead of keeping format of event based on popular T20 has decided to conduct it on 40-over format.

“JKPL will not be T20 event but a 40-over format cricket tournament. It is being done to develop the cricket structure in State and bring out best in players. JKCA has resisted the lure of conducting T20 and rather than has opted for longer format,” said JKCA official.

“It will help develop cricket in State and also will test the character and ability of cricketers. To play in T20 is easy but 40-over format will test talent of bowlers and batsman. It will also test fitness of our cricketers,” he added.
