Baramulla, September 12: Junaid Dar starred with the bat for Varmul XI as they thrashed Wullar Sopore in a one-sided encounter at Seer on Saturday.

Junaid made well-looking 70 runs in 32 balls to make sure his team puts on a good total of 182 runs after batting first. He was supported by Rasim who made 34 runs off 19 balls.

For Sopore, Umar Kangoo with three wickets was the wrecker-in-chief while as Tauseef also scalped a wicket.

Chasing the total, Wullar Sopore struggled from the word go. They lost four of their batsmen in powerplay, thanks to some terrific bowling by Umar Lone and Rasim.

Lastly, they were bundled out on meagre 73 runs. Lone finished with four wickets while Rasim, Junaid and Mehraj took two wickets each.

Junaid Dar for his all-round show bagged the man of the match award.
