Kanelwon Sports won the final of the Ramzaan Cup-2018 (Edition 5th) by defeating Veerian Cricket Academy Veeri (VCA) in a thriller by 27 runs.
The final was played at Sports Ground Nanil Anantnag. In the beginning toss was won by the Kanelwon Sports and decided to bat first. Batting first Kanelwon Sports made a total of 154 in alloted 20 overs, in which Ishtiyaq Rasool made very hard hitting 61 runs, Shakir Naik and Mudasir Malik contributed 27 and 25 respectively. From the VCA side Sartaj Sofi took 3 important wkts and Captain Aadil Rashid took 2 wkts. While Chasing the target of 155 runs ,VCA lost important wkts of Imran Ganie and Saleet Rather very early. But in the middle order Sartaj Sofi, Tajamul Rafiq and Aadil Rashid contributed 35, 25, 20 runs respectively and carried the game till the 16th over of the match and after that team collapsed at the score of 127 and thus Kanelwon Sports bacame the champion team of the “Ramzaan Cup 2018 Edition 5th” by defeating VCA. Overall in the match, aggressive batman Ishtiyaq Rasool was the key player behind the success of Kanelwon sports. Who remained dominant over VCA both with bat and bowl.
During final award ceremony guests and dignitaries who gave away the trophies and medals to the players includes: Ajaz Sahab and Lateef Gilkar(from District Cricket Forum Anantnag), Bashir Ahmad Salroo Chairman Dawood (from Bijbehara Cricket Organization), Dr. Riyaz Veeri ( from Veerian Cricket Academy Veeri), Farooq Malik and Khursheed Mir (From Radio Kashmir Srinagar) Bashir Ahmad (from Auqaaf Kanelwon), Mohammad Illyas (from Kanelwon Sports), Gh. Rasool and Fayaz Sahab (from Sports Federation Mattan), Mohammad Abdullah (from Anzwalla), Gh. Jeelani (from Matipura) and from Dachinipura Cricket Federation Lal Mohammad Ganie (Cheif Patron), Ab. Rashid Katoo (Vice Chairman), Nazir Ahmad Padder(Cheif organizer), Mukhtar Ahmad Banday (General Secretary), Mohammad Iqbal Matipuri(Convener) and Shabir Saleem (Publicity incharge). In the award ceremony Riyaz Najar(Kachra) was declared Man of the match for his 4 wkt haul, Ishfaq Ahmad from Sher-e-Kashmir was declared Man of the tournament for his over all performence throughout the tournament, Saleet Rather from Veerian Cricket Academy was declared Best batman of the tournament for his brilliant batting throughout the tournament, contributed 300 plus runs.
Besides this, few encouragment awards were also given to officials and sports lovers present on the occasion. The tournament was organized by the Dachinipur cricket Federation at sports ground Nanil Anantnag South Kashmir.
