Srinagar, October 19: Football is these days booming in Kashmir with multiple tournaments being held across valley. Apart from that new football clubs are being formed and something being professionals.

One such club that is aiming big, is Kashmir Avengers football club that has been formed recently.

“Kashmir Avengers Football Club is not only aiming to play in Domestic Competitions but are preparing to take off to participate in I-League competition of AIFF as a professional football club based at Srinagar, ” Club statement said.
“The club is owned by Baba Consultancy Education Services and Aqua Group jointly. The Baba is group is owned by Abid Hussain Baba and is one of the leading consultants of Valley having a complete infrastructure and associates all over the country & abroad since 2003. Aqua Group is basically manufacturers and service providers that deals with various categories for PUF Panels, Pharma, Engineering and Motor Services and is headed by Arshad Ahmed Zargar as its  Managing Partner, ” Statement said.
“Both Abid & Arshad are die hard football fans and have played football up to school level. The love towards the game have attracted both of them to raise a Club where local players will get a platform to showcase their talent at elite level, ” It said.

Both of them revealed that after establishing a successful business set up, they wanted to do something for society and for that taking initiative of forming a professional sports club for local players was a wonderful step.

“It will not only benefit players and people associated with the club but will also help to contribute in developing the sports of our region which is badly required for our youth. In Kashmir the game of football has always remained at rise and lot can be done for the aspiring youth who have no dearth of talent. We will try to help them introduce in highest level competitions of the country besides we are in talks with some foreign leading clubs for exchange programs which will give huge exposure to our local talent. Nothing is satisfying better than this if we succeed to help grooming of our local players professionally, “said Abid and Arshid.
The club is consistently playing in all local tournaments since its formation at local level and are performing up to the expectations under the coaching and guidance of Sheikh Rizwan who was himself a top level professional player and a qualified Coach.

The club has signed all local players in its first phase and are being payed handsomely. Once we will get nod from JKFA & AIFF we will surely add outside and foreign players in the squad to prepare a good side but our main focus would be grooming of local players, Owners added.
The Club Management thanked Football Association for providing registration in Elite Division which will pave way to participate in forth coming I-League tournaments which is our major focus.
