The French wonder kid 20-year-old Kylian Mbappe has made choice on who will be this year’s Ballon d’Or winner.
The PSG forward who himself has scored an impressive 32 league goals as Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title at a canter has said that none other then Lionel Messi should win it in 2019.
Kylian finished the season as the league’s top scorer and he also bagged the ‘Player of the Year’ award and during his acceptance speech, he named Lionel Messi as his favourite to win the coveted individual prize.
Messi has enjoyed another unbelievable campaign. He’s weighed in with a staggering 50 goals in all competitions and Mbappe had no hesitation when asked for his pick.
“The favourite [for the Ballon d’Or] is Messi,” He said. “The elimination in Champions does not change anything, he is the number one in everything.
“He has shown this year that he is the best player and although the year goes until December, I’m not worried about him, he’s going to play until December.”
The Argentine maestro hasn’t won the Ballon d’Or since 2015.
His rival Cristiano Ronaldo scooped the award in 2016 and 2017 with Luka Modric being named 2018 Ballon d’Or winner following his heroics for Real Madrid and Croatia.
