Srinagar, Sep 18: Pakistan senior cricketer Mohammad Hafeez has suggested that Pakistan star batsman Babar Azam should bat down the order in the upcoming series against Zimbabwe in order to try new combination and give chance to youngsters.

“I think Babar should bat down the order and a new opening pair should be tried and access their abilities,” Hafeez said on Kamran Akmal’s YouTube show.

“If Babar plays besides his original batting position, he should raise his skills of batting down the order against Zimbabwe,” he added.

The former captain also believed that Pakistan management should give chances to youngsters in the upcoming series.

“I think it is the best opportunity to give more exposure to the younger players. We should not repeat the mistake of selecting full squad as we did in 2018 Zimbabwe’s tour,” he maintained.

Zimbabwe is scheduled to play in late October with the three-match ODI series likely to be played in Multan while the three T20Is will be played in Rawalpindi.
