Pakistan have earned the rights to host the next Asia Cup, which is scheduled to take place in September 2020.

According to a report in ESPNCricinfo — despite Pakistan being the hosts — the venue for the event is yet to be confirmed.

Due to strained political relations between Pakistan and India, United Arab Emirates (UAE) could once again host the event — similar to what happened last time when India were the hosts.

The tournament will switch back to T20 format bearing in mind the next World T20 in Australia. The previous event was held in the ODI format considering the upcoming 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.
