In major surprise that was kept hidden from whole cricket following fans of J&K, the star cricketer and skipper Parvez Rasool had missed J&K opening Ranji Trophy tournament match against Uttarakhandh due to injury at Dehradun.
J&K went into the match against hosts without its star skipper, and in his absence side was lead by Shubham Pundir. J&K team management kept it under wraps about the reason Parvez missing the all important opening game.
However, it has been learnt now that Parvez Rasool had suffered injury during his training at Jammu and didn’t went with team to Dehradun.
“Parvez didnt went with team but instead went to NCA Bangalore to had expert opinion on his injury status . He had suffered knee injury and it was feared that he may need surgery. But the experts have opined that he will need a surgery and only rehab for two to three weeks,” said a JKCA source.
The cricket experts have voiced their resentment against JKCA and Parvez Rasool for keeping injury status under wraps. They have said that cricketer should have come clear on his status and JKCA should have sent his replacement in the side.
“It is total secrecy and non professionalism as no one should be doing such things. There is nothing wrong in saying I am injured and announcing it in public . In his place some other player could have got the chance,” said a former player.
