International Taekwondo player and coach of J&K , Atul Pangotra who has lashed out at J&K State Sports Council for its policies has found support in shape of some high profile players and coaches.
Atul had posted on personal Facebook a post in which he had lashed out at Sports Council. The post reads, “ Surprisingly, very surprising as J&K Sports Council who is the main sports funding authority/institution in our state are not having funds for National based players who were supposed to participate in a National championship in an Olympic sport, but at the very same time are having huge funds for those who are playing non Olympic sport and are taking advantage by participating in open or International championships”.
In the same post he has regretted leaving job in SAI and opting for job in J&K for the promotion of sports in his home State.
“Today I am regretting honestly on choosing my State over Centre. I left my job in SAI (Sports Authority of India) which I found today more valuable just for the sake of promoting and developing an Olympic sport in the state but unfortunately some self styled sports promoters are politicizing sports at very best,” post further reads.
“I am sorry to higher officials because when it comes to Taekwondo ,sure as hell I won’t compromise with anyone. I will continue to strive for promoting this Olympic sport in my state as well as in Country.Fight for my Game till my last breath,” post added.
The pos got comments from various persons that included Bilquis Mir, inte5rnational water sport coach, Rajinder Singh international Wushu player as well as Waheed ur Rehman Parra former Secretary Sports Council.
“Sir J&K mein han kya World medal , Asian medal , world cup medal, Asia Cup medal , national continue 3 tym gold but aaj tak kuch nhi mila ise government sa ek job security bhi nhi other state ka player mera sath ka inspector, DSP rank mein han aur mein job less ( Sir I have got lot of medals in various International competitions but got nothing from J&K Government.
