Jammu and Kashmir Senior Men’s team is set to play Nagaland at CP Ground, Andhra Pradesh tomorrow in the first match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Nagaland would be making its debut entry in the tournament as the East India state, including eight other teams, became the association members of BCCI this season.

The team looked quite ordinary in the Ranji Trophy with players lacking experience of playing at this level. However, as the T20 format is an entirely different game, they might produce better performances.

On the other hand, J&K after finishing Ranji Trophy on a lower note would look to start the campaign with a big win over debutants. The Parvez Rasool-led side looks quite balanced, having likes of experienced players like Irfan Pathan, Adil Reshi, Ram Dayal etc

Moreover, the inclusion of young, Rasikh Salam has added to team’s chances in the tournament especially against a minnow side like Nagaland.
