Srinagar, February 15: J&K’s mentor Irfan Pathan on Saturday said it was proud moment for him and whole Jammu and Kashmir after they qualified for Ranji Trophy knockouts.

Lauding the team for its outstanding show in the tournament, Pathan, soon after J&K confirmed its entry into the quarter-finals, took to his social media accounts, saying it was special event for him.

J&K, being considered as a minnow side in Indian domestic arena for a long time now, made it to the second round of Ranji Trophy only for the third-time ever.

“A proud moment for me and the entire Jammu Kashmir cricket team as we qualify for the knockouts! This news is very special to me as it’s the 3rd time in the history of Ranji trophy!Way to go boys…” Pathan wrote.

The former Indian cricketer mentioned names of skipper and coach of the team. He asserted that they played a major role in taking the team to new heights.

“Talking about credit lots of them goes to these two gentlemen in the middle. The coach #milapmewada who work tirelessly with the team for two years and captain #parvezrasool for being an outstanding performer.” He concluded.
