Qamran Iqbal, a teenager cricketer from Srinagar, on Tuesday bagged man of the match award for his special knock against South Africa U19, helping India U19 ‘A’ post a mammoth victory of 157 runs at Trivandrum in the ongoing Quadrangular series.

The opener made swashbuckling 65-ball 60 runs to set the platform for his team after their skipper opted to bat first. He fought the new ball quite despite ball was moving in the initial overs at the lively wicket of Greenfield Stadium.

With the help of his innings and late fire-power by Shahswat Rawat, the hosts posted a good total of 251 runs. In reply Africa never looked in the game.

They kept losing wickets at regular intervals, finishing at 94 for all, hence rewarding India 157-run win. Dubey and Bishnoi were the pick of the bowlers as the duo shared six wickets, three each.

India U19 ‘A’ will next face Afghanistan U19 in this ongoing Quadrangular tournament.
