The under-19 cricketer of State, Qamran Iqbal scored 63 runs for India Blue in the final of the Under-19 Challenger Trophy One-Day tournament against India Green at Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday.
Despite playing 63 run at top of the order, India Blue lost match by six runs against India Greens. With this win India Greens lifted the Challenger Trophy. Batting first Blues scored 206 runs for the loss of all wickets. Qamran Iqbal top scored with 63 from 63 balls that included 10 fours. In reply India Greens got to target for the loss of four wickets in 43 overs and lifted the title.
Qamran Iqbal this year was selected for India Under-19 B team for quadrangular International series. Since then the Srinagar based cricketer has been regular in India Under-19 probable teams. However, this time apart from final knock of 63 runs, he had average tournament with the scores of 28, 17 and 25 for India Blue.
He will next be part of the J&K Under-19 team in the Coach Behar Trophy that starts from Monday.
