Srinagar, Aug 9: District Cricket Association (DCA) Anantnag Chief Operating Officer and Former J&K Ranii Trophy Skipper Abdul Qayoom Bagaw has hailed Deputy Commissioner Anantnag for sanctioning cricket stadium for the High Ground Sarnal in the vicinity of Anantnag district.

“It is a great and encouraging initiative taken up by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag. This has been the long pending demand of the cricketers of the Anantnag and adjoining districts. Now DC office Anantnag has initiated the process of constructing a cricket stadium at the High Ground Sarnal, ” a statement issued by DCA COO Abdul Qayoom Bagaw said.

Former Ranii trophy pacer Bagaw said that it has been possible due to the efforts of Association and all the cricket lovers of the District who followed the case.

“We hail  consistent efforts of members time and again in this regard. Without the efforts of members and cricketers this wouldn’t have been a reality. Now we request all the concerned authorities to accelerate the speedy construction of Stadium on priority basis to enable the cricketers to utilise the facility properly, ” He added.
