J&K are though still alive in the tournament but it would never be easy for them to make it to the next round, owing to the fact that Delhi is playing quite well and it’s unlikely to see them facing a defeat from a minnow side like Manipur. However, cricket is a game of great uncertainities and we never know what would happen next.
Here is the qualification scenario by which they can make it to the second round of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy:
Here we go…
- Firstly, J&K has to win both the remaining matches against Kerala and Manipur, getting 16 points.
- Delhi must lose to Andhra and Manipur in their next two matches, which would keep their points tally- 12.
- Andhra should win against Delhi but lose to Manipur and Jharkhand so that they end with 8 points.
- Kerala should lose to Nagaland, J&K, and Jharkhand to end with 8 points.
This way, Jharkhand will finish with 24 points in 6 games, J&K with 16, Delhi and Manipur with 12, Kerala and Andhra with 8 while as Nagaland with 0. Hence taking Jharkhand and J&K into the second round..
