Srinagar, February 12: J&K were folded for 340 runs by Haryana on day-one of ongoing round-nine match of Ranji Trophy at Jammu.
Thanks to late cameos by Ram Dayal (43) and Abid Mushtaq (29*), the hosts were able to post a competitive total of 340 runs. Pertinently, Shubham Pundir, who was out of touch in the tournament, top-scored with 84 runs while Khajuria also made 62 runs.
For Haryana, Rahul Tewatia was wrecker-in-chief, bagging a 7-wicket-haul. The spinner made most of the slow-seeming track of GGM, making J&K batsmen think. He finished with the figures of 22-0-98-7.
With 3 overs left in day’s play, Haryana tried to bat cautiously. However, in-form Abid Mushtaq, who was given the second over, smartly sent back H Rana to make sure J&K finish the day on top. They were 2/1 in 1.4 overs at stumps.
