Srinagar, February 05: Showing the much-needed form with the ball, J&K skipper Parvez Rasool on Wednesday scalped seven wickets, earning his team the mega lead of 142-run first innings lead against Tripura at Agartala.

With J&K in a winning position, 6 points from the match will essure J&K’s entry to the qaurter-finals of the mega tourney. The side has thus far only qualified for second round of Ranji Trophy twice.

Earlkwr, after a healthy last wicket stand between Abid Mushtaq and Mohammed Mudhasir, taking visitors to 329-run total, the bowling attack led by Parvez ran through hosts’ batting line-up.

Tripura were folded for meagre 187 runs, thanks to some exceptional bowling by the off-spinner. Umar Nazir also bowled quite well earlier on, picking a solitary scalp while spin-duo of Abdul Samad and Abid Mushtaq also shared a wicket each.

For host team, captain Milind Kumar fought an alone battle, scoring a gutsy fifty. The tourists lost opener Jiyaad Magrey in the begining of second innings and finished the day on 49/1, leading by 191 runs.
