J&K were to make work hard by hosts Goa on the opening day of the second Ranji trophy match at Goa on November 12.

At the end of first day’s play Goa were on 216/2 after playing 90 overs. Sumiran Amonkar who batted brilliantly , grinding in was going great on 69 with Amit Verma batting on 37.

It was tough day for J&K in the middle despite winning the toss. They opted to field first and invited Goa to bat first. The decision backfired as Goa went on score slowly and grind in hard to keep J&K bowlers at bay. At the end of day’s play host would be happy to end day on 216 with only two wickets down. Amonkar is playing marathon knock after having faced more than 250 balls for his 69. The new in Verma is batting on 37 off 44. Amogh Desai got out after scoring 38 while as Kamat got out after scoring 57.

For J&K Irfan Pathan and Umar Naziir took one wicket a piece.
