The brilliant second inning fighting 158 run knock by Parvez Rasool was in vain as Odisha defeated J&K by 8-wickets on the last day thrilling finish of Ranji Trophy match at Jammu on December 25.


Set a target of 197 runs to win in two  sessions, Odisha thanks to Shantanu Misra 78 and  Subransu Senapati 72* achieved target in 49.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. For J&K Parvez and Mohammad Mudhasir took one wicket each.

Earlier thanks to 158 run knock by Parvez, J&K scored 391 runs in second inning. Qamran Iqbal scored 67, Amir Aziz 56 and Mohammad Mudhasir 30.

It is first inning dismal outing for J&K batsman that has cost team match. In first inning J&k got bundled out for 127. In reply Odisha scored 323 runs in first inning.
